Chris has had a lifelong interest in the music of Bruce Springsteen and regards him as one of the greats of modern rock culture. Inspired particularly by the album and single "The River" (pictured below), Chris is performing a series of concerts featuring Bruce Springsteen material which he has, in tribute to these iconic recordings, called "The River" concerts.

With these "The River" concerts Chris is working to evoke the intimate and personal atmosphere of a typical Springsteen unplugged performance.

Renowned for his lengthy live shows with The E Street Band and big rock albums such as Born To Run, Born in the USA and The Rising, Bruce has also, over the years, consistently produced a wealth of quality acoustic material. Indeed, back in '71 Springsteen was actually signed by Columbia as a solo acoustic artist in the same style as the early Bob Dylan.

Most of Springsteen's songs work well and sound good stripped down to one guitar. Albums such as Nebraska, The Ghost of Tom Joad and Devils and Dust are full of distinctive and interesting acoustic songs that are perhaps not too familiar to the casual listener. With guitar and harmonica Chris will be performing songs from these acoustic albums - songs such as Johnny 99, Atlantic City and Across the Border - as well as Bruce classics including The River, Thunder Road, Incident on 57th Street and Racing In The Street.

With Springsteen's live appearances in the UK few and far between these days, Chris's concerts will hopefully appeal to true Bruce fans, as well as any genuine lover of quality live music and will make for an interesting evening's entertainment.
